It has been my privilege to serve Hays County as your judge of County Court at Law #3 and the Mental Health Court since my election in 2022. I believe it is important to apply the law fairly in each case and to act with compassion when appropriate. I have worked to improve our justice system by identifying mental health providers for the county and increasing access to resources for those affected by mental illness, homelessness and substance abuse. My goal is to continue to expand the mental health court and to provide more access to mental health resources for both adults and juveniles in our county. A healthier community benefits us all by keeping families together, reducing crime and saving tax payer dollars.
I believe that judges have an important role to play in our society. I have had a broad range of experiences that uniquely qualify me for this position. My education and experience provide me with the skills necessary to analyze the facts and to apply the law fairly. It is important to uphold the law, while also balancing the needs of our society. Many of us will be affected by this court, whether it is through a probate matter, a criminal matter or a civil suit. I will serve as a judge who will work to improve the system for all.
